Wakestock 2010 WWA World Series

Collingwood, ON, Canada - The world's largest annual wakeboarding festival is proud to announce its return to Collingwood, Canada, August 6-8, 2010.

One of the most progressive and richest events in pro wakeboarding and wakeskating for 12 years running, Wakestock is globally renowned as an innovative rider's event that showcases the best in wakeboarding, wakeskating and the action sports lifestyle including incredible live band line-ups and legendary parties.

Wakestock was the first pro wakeboarding tour event to include rails, wakeskating and winch pools and consistently attracts the biggest spectator crowds in the world. Past Wakestock champions include legends like Darrin Shapiro, Parks Bonifay, Brett Eisenhauer, Jeff Heer and current superstars like Chad Sharpe, Shane Bonifay, Daniel Watkins, Keith Lidberg, Brian Grubb, Reed Hansen, George Daniels, Stuart Shinn, Rusty Malinoski, Phil Soven and Aaron Rathy.

Wakestock is one of five events, including the WWA World Championships, that comprise the 2010 WWA World Series of Wakeboarding, the world's richest pro tour. The defending Wakestock Billabong Wakeboard Pro Champion is Aaron Rathy. The defending Wakestock Malibu Boats Wakeskate Pro Champion is Brian Grubb. Wakestock also features Canada's largest amateur wakeboarding and wakeskating contest presented by Malibu Boats.

Past Wakestock music artists include the Deftones, Social Distortion, RZA and GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Metric, Goldfinger, Hot Water Music, Lupe Fiasco, Dead Kennedys, Reel Big Fish, Andrew WK, Alexis On Fire, and USS among dozens of other bands.
Wakestock 2010 is presented by Monster Energy in conjunction with Coors Light, Billabong, Malibu Boats and Yahoo Canada.

Monster Energy Wake Wars 2010 Schedule Announced

Australia's premier wakeboard event is back for 2010 on Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th. This year Chris Higgs from Ride on Events has pushed this event to a new level with the announcement of energy drink giant, Monster Energy joining as naming right sponsor. The 2010 event will see the return of MasterCraft as the official tow boat for the event. With Mastercraft towing the event it will have the same boat as the PWT in the states with the wake made by the world's best wakeboard boat, the XSTAR. Wake Wars will return for its 8th year to be the longest running wakeboarding event in Australia. We are also putting up the biggest prize money for a one off event in Australian history, $17,500 and reducing the entry fee to $100.00. The idea of this is to bring it back to the days of Run by riders for the riders.

Wake Wars 2009 was no doubt be biggest stand alone wake boarding event with a sellout crowd, including both wakeboarding followers and people new to the sport, enticed by the thrill of the sport and the enjoyment of the laidback, festival feel of this event on the waters' edge.

This event ensures spectators see the world's best riders at Australia's best back drop for wakeboarding, in the heart of Glenelg at Lake Patawalonga. The venue is only 2.5km from one of the best tourist areas and city beaches in South Australia. The event shows spectators how fun the sport of wakeboarding is, and the opportunities that exist in the sport both here and overseas.

Ride on Events has put a new look on the event with two riders competition and music festival feel by investing money in getting Adelaide's best Djs R Mac, Justice, Aj and Fresh fm broadcasting live all day. To top this we will have one of Australia's top shelf acts; DOWNSYDE performing live there world wide hit Fortune Fame after the rider's presentation. So bring the whole family along and have a great day and enjoy the party vibe.
